Businesses Accelerate their Response to the Challenges and Opportunities of the Green Transition

Forética has presented the 'Business Toolkit for Just Transition in Green Jobs', which includes the roadmap with the keys for any company to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the green transition and digital transformation.

The document has been published within the framework of the ‘Jobs 2030’ initiative -led by ManpowerGroup, with the collaboration of Fundación ONCE and PRISA- and in alliance with WBCSD and CSR Europe. It is also supported by the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy.

According to the World Economic Forum, it is estimated that around 30 million jobs could be created worldwide for these professionals by 2030. In addition, it highlights the urgency of accelerating the processes of updating and acquiring new skills (upskilling and reskilling), as it is predicted that six out of ten professionals will need additional training before 2027 to cope with this new paradigm.

This kit presented by Forética offers an action map with four steps that will allow companies to:

  1. Identify the materiality of green jobs

  2. Establish a sustainable level of ambition

  3. Design and implement just transition plans

  4. Measure and report on the impact of green jobs

Just transition requires a holistic approach that considers all stakeholders, including employees, local communities, suppliers, customers and regulators. Leading companies in their sector can play a crucial role as catalysts for change. This involves not only adopting just transition practices within their own organisation, but also encouraging and facilitating other companies to follow suit.
