·Workshop: Perspectives on a Purchasing Programme for CRCF Permanent Carbon Removal Credits

On 21 May 2025, Ecologic Institute, on behalf of the Directorate-General for Climate Action of the European Commission, is organising a half-day workshop presenting perspectives on a purchasing programme for CRCF Permanent Carbon Removal Credits.

This interactive workshop aims to support the swift development and deployment of a purchasing programme to accelerate the market for permanent carbon removal in Europe. The discussions will contribute to the study on the design and near-term implementation of a potential purchasing programme for CRCF permanent carbon removal credits.

·EU Green Week Conference

This year, the EU Green Week is all about the circular economy. With its potential to drive sustainable competitiveness, reduce waste, and promote innovation, circular economy offers a compelling solution to some of the EU’s most pressing challenges.  The event will feature among others: 

·        Policy discussions (3-4 June): hear from expert speakers on how a circular use of resources can make the EU more competitive, resilient, and sustainable. 

·        Stakeholder event (5 June): meet with industry leaders, communities and other stakeholders to share ideas and inspire action, in partnership with the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform and the European Circular Cities and Regions Initiative. 

 

 

·Regional Sustainable Economic Development around the Globe Workshop

6 - 7 June 2025

The workshop is co-organised by the Monmouth University and the McMullen Family, together with the Joint Research Centre, the Institute of Global Business and Society at TH Köln, and CED (Centre for Economic Development & Social Change). Topics include, but are not necessarily limited to:

·European Sustainable Energy Week

The EUSEW Policy Conference is the biggest conference dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. The sessions will focus on sustainable energy issues, highlighting new policy developments, best practices, and innovative ideas.

 

 

·Implementation Dialogue: Permitting for renewable energy projects and related infrastructure

11 June

Taking place in the framework of EUSEW, the Implementation Dialogue with Dan Jørgensen, Commissioner for Energy and Housing, will gather various stakeholders to discuss the implementation of EU legislation on speeding up and simplifying permit-granting procedures for renewable energy projects.

The dialogue will focus on progress in the implementation of existing permitting rules and on identifying the remaining bottlenecks and future measures.

 

·Boosting apprenticeships: 2025 EAfA High-Level Event to support the Union of Skills and the Clean Industrial Deal

30 June - 1 July

Brussels, Belgium

The EAfA High-Level Event will showcase how apprenticeships concretely support these two initiatives. Key topics to be addressed include: developing skills for clean technologies and green industries, enhancing gender equality in apprenticeships, particularly in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and ensuring the skills needed for a resilient and future-ready Europe.
