THE CHALLENGE

An estimated 96% of all workers at threat from technology could find similar or better work with adequate training.

According to the von der Leyen’s Commission and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), upskilling is a necessity for workers, as it helps them cope with technological changes. At the same time, upskilling is beneficial for companies as it allows them to stay competitive and innovative.

OUR APPROACH

In 2019, CSR Europe with the support of J. P. Morgan, launched the three-year project “Upskill 4 Future” to raise awareness, provide capacity building and be a stepping stone towards upskilling initiatives in companies. The aim of the project is to investigate how HR transformation can support the employability of vulnerable workers, who are at risk of losing their jobs due to technological progress and companies’ restructurings.

Upskill 4 Future, ran in Spain, Italy, France and Poland, to equip companies with methodology on how to re-skill and upskill their employees, so that they are fit for functions that are changing and for new jobs that are replacing the current ones.
