NPOs Align on Priorities Ahead of October Summit
On 24 June, CSR Europe convened its National Partner Organisations (NPOs) to reflect on 2025 engagement, shape collaboration for 2026, and prepare for a powerful in-person follow-up at the European Sustainable Industry Summit in October.
With over 20 NPOs represented, the online session served as a clear signal: this network is ready to move beyond compliance—and toward impact.
From Shared Values to Shared Action
During the meeting, several key collaboration workstreams emerged:
Thematic Working Groups: NPOs called for structured working groups on critical topics—from CSRD and circular economy to competitiveness and diversity—allowing national expertise to lead on shared European sustainability impact.
Sector-Based Collaboration: Several NPOs voiced interest in co-developing sectoral approaches to sustainability, including developing roadmaps that address industry-specific needs.
Next-Level Engagement with EU Legislation: NPOs emphasized their maturity to contribute to the legislative conversation, not just react to it. Several asked how the network could contribute to shaping policymaking by creating “compliance hubs”.
Embarking on EU Projects Together: NPOs expressed their willingness to engage in joint EU projects—for example, those focused on diversity and inclusion—highlighting the potential for collaboration that leverages collective expertise and access to funding opportunities.
Circular Economy on the Horizon: Circularity emerged as a strategic priority and a key driver of competitiveness - more on this topic during dedicated roundtables at the Summit
During the meeting, CSR Europe also presented its latest publication, Better Regulation for Stronger Implementation, developed with practitioners from CSR Europe’s Chief Sustainability Officers (CSO’s) Network. NPOs played a key role by providing input on evolving sustainability regulations and sharing their views on how to improve them and leverage for competitiveness.
Looking Ahead: October Summit & NPO Meeting
The next NPO meeting will take place in person at the European Sustainable Industry Summit (23–24 October, Mechelen, Belgium)—and will build directly on these discussions. Expect interactive sessions, peer-led roundtables, and opportunities to shape the 2026 NPO agenda together.
From diversity and inclusion to regulatory alignment, competitiveness to collaboration - NPOs are stepping forward not just as local leaders, but as drivers of Europe’s sustainable future.
