CSR Europe Set to Kick-off its First Sustainability Leadership Salon

  • Leading companies, members of the CSR Europe’s Leadership Hubs, will engage with key stakeholders - including EU policymakers - on the role of business in shaping a EU Social Green Deal 2024-2029.

  • The event, co-organised with Globescan, will take place on 27th April in Brussels.

COVID-19. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Energy and cost-of-living crisis. Impacts of climate change. Upskilling imperative for a green and digital economy. Challenges to the social dimension of the EU’s sustainability agenda abound.

Ahead of the 2024 European elections, CSR Europe and Globescan are bringing together frontrunning companies for the first Sustainability Leadership Salon of the year to explore the setup of an alliance for action between business leaders, European policymakers, and stakeholders to advance a Just Transition in Europe.

The event will take place in Brussels on 27th April, and explore the case for an EU Social Green Deal 2024-2029 that requires simultaneously:

  • Policy Leadership which - in support to and beyond the new EU Sustainability regulations – enable impact and system change through multistakeholder dialogues, sector collaborations and alliances.

  • Business leadership which -beyond a compliance led approach on sustainability – engage their company to peers, industry sectors, policymakers, investors, and civil society to build joint solutions and drive system change across their local and global eco-systems.

NEXT STEPS

The outcome of this discussion will be tested at the 2023 CSR Europe Conference, taking place in Brussels on the 20th of June. The business proposal will then be adapted and discussed at the second Sustainability Leadership Salon on the 14th of November. The final policy paper will be presented to the new European Commission, European Parliament, and EU governments in 2024.
