ArcelorMittal has published its second Climate Action Report (CAR2).

The multinational steel manufacturing corporation has now a net-zero by 2050 target and for the first time discloses a net-zero roadmap that shows its journey to carbon-neutrality.

The roadmap features five levers that act as stepping stones to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. These are:

  1. Steelmaking transformation.

  2. Energy transformation.

  3. Increased use of scrap.

  4. Sourcing clean electricity.

  5. Offsetting residual emissions.

Using these levers will bring to a breakdown of the 25% global reduction in CO2 emissions in the run-up to 2030.
