WEBINAR - Towards a Common Approach on the European Deforestation Regulation

CLOSED EVENT - BY INVITATION ONLY

Co-organized with CLEPA and VDA

View Agenda

The EU Deforestation regulation will apply by the end of 2024. This Regulation will have a major impact on different sectors, including the automotive sector. A deeper understanding of this legislative framework and the practical implications of its due diligence requirements are high on the agenda of car- and truckmakers and their suppliers.

The scope of the regulations depends highly on the way each company has structured its supply chain and the processes linked to it. Non-compliance will have immediate impact on production as products and materials will be banned from import or export to and placing on the European market.

This is the first of a series of webinars that Drive Sustainability, VDA, CLEPAand Drive+ will organize together in 2024.

This webinar will tackle the basics and align on the way to approach this regulation. The focus will be on a system to understand what is in scope and how each company can determine what is specifically in scope for them, given their current purchasing structure and processes.

The European Commission (DG Environment) will provide additional insights and other sectors (leather, rubber) will share their understanding of the regulation and how they want to tackle this).  Companies from the automotive sector will also share their insights and steps already taken.
