ATELIER - The CS3D: the EU Framework for Sustainability Due Diligence

CLOSED EVENT | CORPORATE MEMBERS ONLY

Draft Agenda

On December 13th, a provisional agreement was reached between the European Parliament and the European Council for the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D). Aligned with global guidelines such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, companies now face significant accountability in addressing actual and potential adverse impacts on human rights and the environment.

This directive establishes a comprehensive framework of obligations for companies to foster sustainable and responsible corporate behavior and reflect on an evolving global & European landscape, compelling businesses to proactively mitigate adverse human rights and environmental risks globally, extending scrutiny to their value chains within and outside Europe.

The critical aspect of this upcoming legislation is for business to prepare for its implementation by thoroughly understanding its scope and requirements, ensuring compliance, and turning efforts into meaningful catalysts for impactful change. Recognizing these compliance measures as opportunities for growth and improvement is essential. By participating in CSR Europe in the Materials Atelier Series, "Due Diligence in Action”, businesses can gain the knowledge and tools necessary to successfully embrace sustainable business practices, including valuable insights into executing due diligence in operations and supply chains.

In this first online session, CSR Europe will engage businesses, expert organizations, and policymakers to unveil the conclusive text of the CS3D, offering insights into its details and exploring companies' preparedness for its implementation in company policies.
