Join the Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Supply Chain Due Diligence

Europe is the world’s frontrunner for human rights and environmental due diligence measures. Nevertheless, there are limits to what companies can do individually or via voluntary standard schemes and industry coalitions. Many supply chain sustainability challenges and opportunities relate to structural and systemic issues that require collective action beyond what the private sector can achieve on its own.

In this context, how can upstream actors go beyond due diligence? How can downstream actors, civil society organisations, and governments join forces to have a positive impact amongst local communities?

Join us and sustainability leaders for the European SDG Summit Roundtable “Due Diligence and Positive Change: a Value-Chain Approach”, on 12 October at 09:30 CEST to find out.

Confirmed speakers include Cécile Billaux, Head of Unit of DG INTPA, and representatives of the cocoa, rubber, cobalt and copper sector, who will share best practices on producer/supplier capacity-building measures, the empowerment of local communities, and impact investment approaches. CSR Europe will moderate the panel on the opportunities and limits of active engagement of downstream companies, featuring Aurelia Hillestad, Sustainability Manager at Volvo Group, Eleonora Pessina, Group Sustainability Officer at Pirelli, Sarah Dekkiche, Director of Policy and Partnerships at the International Cocoa Initiative. The session will also present the multistakeholder approach of the German Chemical Industry, with Andreas Ogrinz, Managing Director Education, Innovation, Sustainability of the German Federation of Chemical Employer’s Associations (BAVC), and Carola Dittmann, Head of CSR & Participation at IGBCE.
