How to Build the STEM Workforce Your Company Needs

The European economy is driven by knowledge, yet persisting lack of diversity in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) pipeline causes strain on business performance. Together with Samsung, Amgen, Johnson & Johnson and IBM, CSR Europe is recruiting new members for our collaborative platform to promote STEM education and professions through sustainable business collaboration in Europe.

Industries based on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are growing faster than others. Yet the number of students in this field is stationary and remains too low, especially when it comes to women. According to the European Commission’s Women in Digital (WID) Scoreboard, women make up just 34 % of the STEM graduates in Europe and for ICT studies, the share is only 17 %. However, STEM skills and jobs are critical for the well-being of the European economy and to design solutions to societal challenges.

Is your company interested in fostering the STEM skills it needs? CSR Europe has launched the collaborative platform “Together for STEM” to help your company grow the workforce it needs to thrive. Together with Samsung, Amgen, Johnson & Johnson and IBM, we are currently working to accelerate and scale-up business initiatives that promote STEM diversity and inclusiveness in education and the labour market.

Over the next two years, we will leverage our combined corporate expertise to build a stronger and diversified STEM workforce ready to take on companies’ challenges.

Platform partners are focusing on:

  1. Strengthening and scale-up corporate STEM programs via peer learning

  2. Fostering STEM talent at the local level

  3. Engaging in policy dialogue with the European institutions to drive systemic change

  4. Ensuring a smooth transition from higher education institutions to the labour market

Join “Together for STEM” and contribute to building the workforce your company needs.
