  • from 14.00 to 15.00
    and from 15.00 to 16.00
    13 October 2026

Context

Over the past decades, sustainability has evolved from a voluntary corporate responsibility agenda into a strategic business priority shaped by regulation, stakeholder expectations, and market developments. Today, however, businesses face a new reality marked by geopolitical uncertainty, economic pressures, supply chain disruptions, social polarisation, and growing scrutiny of sustainability initiatives.

In this context, companies are increasingly challenged to demonstrate how sustainability contributes not only to compliance, but also to competitiveness, resilience, innovation, and long-term value creation.

This Learning Lab explores what businesses need to succeed in this next age of sustainability and how collaboration across the wider sustainability ecosystem can support this transition.

ABOUt the learning labs

As sustainability enters a new phase, companies need to move beyond viewing sustainability primarily as a reporting or compliance exercise. This Learning Lab will bring together business representatives, sustainability practitioners, and stakeholders to explore how sustainability can remain a driver of long-term business success in an increasingly complex operating environment. Through expert inputs, business case examples, and a facilitated interactive discussion, participants will identify the conditions and capabilities required for companies to remain competitive, resilient, and future-ready.

The session includes a collaborative workshop format in which participants work in small groups to explore different dimensions of sustainable business transformation, including business capabilities, enabling market conditions, partnerships and ecosystems, and people and social acceptance. Insights from the discussions will be consolidated so that priorities for businesses, policymakers, and sustainability networks will be more feasible.
