The key principle of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is “leave no one behind”. At the same time, disability is included in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 8, 10, 11 and 17. Furthermore, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been ratified by the European Union and all its member states. In other words, to achieve the 2030 Agenda, the SDGs, and it 160 targets, there is a need to focus on disability.

There are over a billion people with disabilities in the world and 100 million in the EU. However, global statistics show that work needs to be done to achieve the inclusion of people with disabilities and to guarantee their rights. People with disabilities can be employers, employees, consumers, suppliers and are part of the community. This 360º perspective offers a wide range of opportunities for organizations to include persons with disabilities.

Join this roundtable to discover the relevance of inclusion to promote sustainable businesses and why multi-stakeholder collaboration is key. We will present Disability Hub Europe (DHub), a multi-stakeholder engagement initiative aimed at building a reference space for best practice exchange, dissemination, mutual learning and raising awareness on the binomial Disability and Sustainability. Its final goal is to foster social and labour inclusion of people with disabilities in Europe while promoting inclusive and sustainable businesses.

Disability Hub Europe (DHub) is the European initiative led by Fundación ONCE, and co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).

The roundtable “Disability in the 2030 Agenda and SDGs” will be accessible. Disability Hub Europe will provide live captioning and sign language interpretation by Zoom. For more information, please contact us at secretary@disabilityhub.eu.
