SUSTAINABILITY OPEN DAY - Unlocking Impact with Supply Chain Due Diligence

OPEN EVENT

Since 2011, the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights and the OECD Due Diligence Guidelines offered crucial frameworks for companies in the implementation of responsible business practices. Fast forward to 2019, the von der Leyen Commission doubled down on the regulatory requirements with the European Green Deal, driving up stakeholders’ expectations on the effective implementation of environmental and human rights due diligence throughout the value chain.

However, the true challenge, as highlighted by CSR Europe in the reflection paper “For a Coherent and Integrated EU Approach to Due Diligence” - lies in going beyond compliance to develop supply chains that have a positive impact on the environment and the communities around them.

This session will explore what is required to advance towards truly sustainable supply chains and generate positive impact. Participants will have the opportunity to deep dive into corporate due diligence as a tool to advance sustainability leadership, foster stakeholders’ engagement, and collaborative efforts within the value chain.

Assessments, audits, and corrective actions are only the start of a wider journey and a more integrated and multi-layer approach to advance human rights and environmental conditions. For this reason, the event will feature leading companies and stakeholders who will share practical challenges faced and their insights and experiences in building an integrated approach to due diligence.
