CLOSED EVENT | National Partner Organisations (NPOs) Only
CONTEXT
Anchored in the European Green Deal and the EU’s broader sustainable consumption agenda, the Empowering Consumers Directive (EU) 2024/825 represents a key milestone in supporting consumers to make informed, sustainable choices and in driving demand for more responsible products. Together with the Green Claims Directive, it forms part of the EU’s effort to create leading markets for clean technologies and sustainable products — introducing clearer rules for environmental claims, product durability, and repairability information, while addressing misleading communication and greenwashing practices.
As Member States advance in the transposition phase, this period offers a critical opportunity to assess progress, gather stakeholder feedback, and identify opportunities for effective implementation. National Partner Organisations (NPOs) and their members play a pivotal role in this process — bridging dialogue between business, consumers, and policymakers, and ensuring that sustainability and competitiveness advance hand in hand.
