HP, Intel and GE start fund to boost conflict-free minerals
A new fund backed by Intel, HP and the GE Foundation aims to lower the cost for smelters that seek to prove they're conflict-free. It joins a variety of programmes that have sprung up to support different stages of the mineral supply chain.The new Conflict-Free Smelters (CFS) Early-Adopters Fund was created to promote early participation in the Conflict-Free Smelter program overseen by the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative.For smelters that enter the CFS program, the fund will cover a portion of the costs that they face in transitioning to conflict-free minerals… Read more

Denmark passes ambitious Green economy legislation to achieve 100% Renewable Energy by 2050
Denmark's Parliament has passed the most ambitious green economy plan in the world: it will generate 35% of its energy from renewable energy by 2020 and 100% by 2050. Wind energy, which Denmark has long exploited, currently provides 25% of the country's electricity.Martin Lidegaard, Denmark's Minister for Climate, Energy and Building says, "Denmark will once again be the global leader in the transition to green energy. Publication released on the Corporate Social Responsibility Activities of American Firms in India
The U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Mr. John Bryson, on March 28 released a compendium on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of American firms in India, published by The American Chamber of Commerce in India (Amcham). This compendium presents select CSR initiatives undertaken by American companies in India focused in the areas of social infrastructure, education, water conservation, rain water harvesting, healthcare delivery, gender diversity and disaster relief programs among others.The report is available for download here.(Source: India CSR)
