CSR Europe bids farewell to Colleen M. Fletcher, Membership and Stakeholder Relations Director
CSR Europe would like to say a big thank you to Colleen M. Fletcher for her excellent leadership and dedicated support to the Membership and Stakeholder Relations team and the CSR Europe network as a whole. Colleen joined CSR Europe in July 2008 and has been instrumental in setting the strategic direction for the organisation and leaves a great legacy behind her. CSR Europe wishes Colleen all the very best as she moves on to new professional challenges in Europe.

BASF’s SET initiative: measuring product
Which influence does 150 gram of ham have on the climate? Which part of the meat production has the most negative impact on the environment? SET, an initiative of BASF for sustainability, ecoefficiency and traceability is helping food producers to measure the sustainability of their products and to continuously increase it. CasaE: BASF is constructing the first energy efficiency house in Brazil
In March, BASF started the construction of its first energy efficient house in Brazil, called CasaE. The innovative building will be set up within six month by BASF with partners like Bosch and Knauf. The house with its meeting rooms will be used of BASF employees and other CasaE project partners to promote trainings, events and meetings around the topic "construction".With CasaE, BASF is presenting innovative solutions which are affordable and contribute to a significant reduction of resource consumption… Read more

IBM Analytics to Cut Golf Community’s Water Use ‘by 10%’
Desert Mountain, a golf and residential community in Arizona, is using IBM analytics software to help reallocate and reduce water usage, save energy and cut operating costs, the company has announced. The 4,500-resident community will install IBM Intelligent Operations Center software for Smarter Cities, with UgMO Technologies’ Wireless Soil Moisture Sensor Solution, to manage irrigation of all six of its championship-grade golf courses. It expects the installation to reduce its water use by 10 percent and generate an additional 10 percent savings in energy costs related to water pumping and distribution… Read more

CSR Europe is delighted to welcome Thierry Lefèvre to the team as Senior Advisor. In this role, he will provide support to the services team and contribute to the projects which are underway under the umbrella of Enterprise 2020. Thierry’s academic background is in law and business administration.Prior to joining CSR Europe, Thierry had a 27 year career with the Solvay Group mainly in the HR domain. Nestlé joins call for more community-based programmes to prevent childhood obesity

Expert Webinar "Business Action on Health Literacy”
On 14 June 2012, CSR Europe organised an expert webinar “Business Action on Health Literacy to discuss the planned pilot projects and to explore the measurements of health and wellbeing programmes.Christine Neumann (CSR Europe) provided an update on the current status and future developments of the Collaborative Project, while Kristine Sorensen (Maastricht University) gave an insightful overview of the pilot projects.
