The European SMEs have been affected hard by the economic regression. They could, however, be in a stronger position and make a faster recovery if they had in place an adequate CR-policy. The aim of the study was to clarify how familiar Finnish SMEs are with Corporate Responsibility (CR) practices and to what extent these are implemented in practice, e.g. what kind of tools have been adopted for improving the company's CR and what kind of training is needed. The report outlines how Vodafone, one of the world's largest mobile communications companies by revenue, has performed on the environmental and social issues most material to its business. BASF presents first Eco-Efficiency Analysis for corn production

Coca-Cola Hellenic cuts CO2 emissions by adding solar power to its energy reduction programme

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling CompanyCoca-Cola Hellenic announced that it has launched an innovative renewable energy initiative by installing rooftop solar panels on all of its bottling plants in Italy. The announcement came at the inauguration of a combined heat and power (CHP*) generation system at the Company's Nogara production facility near Verona in Italy. Solar panels and CHP technology are being introduced in partnership with ContourGlobal, an international provider of efficient energy solutions. Orange wins Green power innovation Award

France Telecom OrangeOrange won a telecom industry award at the Global Telecoms Business Awards 2010 held in London on 7 June. Orange won the ‘Green power innovation' accolade for its solar base station programme in emerging markets, deployed in partnership with Tenesol, a global supplier of solar energy systems. The programme started in Senegal in 2007 with a trial of numerous sites.
