CSR Europe unanimously re-elects Board Chairperson

6 June marked the first meeting of CSR Europe’s new Board of Directors. Novo Nordisk publish first digital sustainability magazine

Novo NordiskNovo Nordisk has recently launched its new digital sustainability magazine.  The 'TBL Quarterly' will bring to life Novo Nordisk's approach to sustainable business through articles, videos and graphics.  As well as an online PDF version, the healthcare company will also incorporate the magazine into an iPad app.The first issue focuses on Novo Nordisk's operations in Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia, where it is making considerable efforts to expand the access to diabetes treatment across the countries… Read more

Volkswagen supports WorldSkills 2013

VolkswagenOn 29 May 2013, Volkswagen signed a cooperation agreement with WorldSkills International in support of their 2013 competition.  As part of its commitment to training future generations, the automotive giant will contribute to the to the car painting and automobile technology categories in the competition.Taking place on 2-7 July at the Leipzig Trade Fair exhibition centre, the scheme is designed to engage young people with vocational education and inspire them in their future careers.  Volkswagen will be provide tools and equipment for the young competitors to use in their challenge… Read more

Cargill launches poultry farming mentorship programme in Indonesia

CargillCargill has launched a poultry farming mentorship program that provides hands-on training to high school students. Students from SMK Agri Insani, a vocational school in Indonesia, will be the first to benefit from this 90-day program on how to develop and manage poultry farms.As part of the program, Cargill has donated a fully-equipped teaching farm stocked with 500 chickens to the school, where Cargill experts will mentor students in modern breeding techniques. Students are also tutored in farm business management, where they learn skills such as profit and loss calculation, feed efficiency and capital management… Read more

Novo Nordisk and Malaysian Ministry of Health to improve pre-pregnancy health

Novo NordiskOn 24 May Novo Nordisk and the Ministry of Health in Malaysia signed a memorandum of understanding, which marks official regonition of the 'Jom Mama' project.  Aimed at preventing diabetes through pre-pregnancy health programmes, Jom Mama was launched 2012 by Novo Nordisk along with the Steno Diabetes Center Denmark, the University of Southampton UK and the University of Witwatersand Johannesburg.In response to research, which indicates a link between a mother's health before and during pregnancy and her child's risk of developing diabetes later in life, the project will focus on gathering more evidence to see how a targeted programme might best address the link… Read more

Intel publishes 2012 Corporate Responsibility Report
