Novo Nordisk reports strong financial, social and environmental performance for 2009

Despite continuing challenges in the global economic environment, 2009 was a successful year for Novo Nordisk, the global leader in diabetes care. The winner of 2010 BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition and the Intel Student Award

Hannah Eastwood from Loreto College Coleraine was awarded the prestigious Intel Student Award at the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition for her project entitled 'Green Rust the Good Gal'. Hannah's project looked at the preparation ‘Green Rust' (FeOOH Lepidocrite) and the testing of its ability to remove the pollutant soluble chromium from solution by reducing to an insoluble form. The Intel Student Award in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics goes to the best individual or group in that category and the prize is an all expenses trip to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair being held in San Jose, California, this year… Read more

The Equity Channel brings together stakeholders and entities to improve health equity

EuroHealthNet, a network of public health and health promotion agencies in EU countries, has launched a special project called The Equity Channel. Chronopost continues its sustainable development approach in the Ile-de-France region

Coca-Cola goes green for the Olympics

The Coca-Cola Company makes its biggest statement of the year with carbon-neutral sponsorship of the Olympic Games in Vancouver.  Through a zero-waste effort that has been in the works since 2006, Coca-Cola will provide 1500 eKOfresh coolers, salvaged wood furniture, Drink2Wear Uniforms, and products that are delivered via hybrid and electric vehicles. Europe clinches deal to fund carbon capture technology

Europe's ambition to become a leading player in carbon capture and storage advanced yesterday after member states agreed a plan that will direct billions of euros to test the unproven technology. Irish Government and Alcatel-Lucent renew collaboration in joint technology innovation

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan T.D., and Dr. Jeong Kim, President of Bell Labs, the research arm of Alcatel-Lucent, has announced the expansion of Bell Labs in Ireland as part of a visit to the Bell Labs Research Center in Blanchardstown, Dublin.
