Business and Human Rights: European Commission launches guides for enterprises in three business sectorsIn support of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the European Commission has released practical human rights guidance for enterprises in three business sectors – human resources, ICT and oil and gas.These guides are the result of one year of extensive engagement with sectors, corporate companies and stakeholders including CSR Europe and its members. BofA's education programme holds Student Presentation Skills Final
This week saw the eighth Student Presentation Skills Final, part of the Financial Education and Employability (FEE) programme, organised by Bank of America Merrill Lynch in association with the education charity Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership.The overall programme reaches over 550 school children from the Tower Hamlets borough in London, who are taught the knowledge and skills that will help them in the workplace in later life. Responsible Business in Poland 2012 report published
The Responsible Business Forum - the biggest CSR network in Poland - has recently released the "Responsible business in Poland 2012. Good practices". The publication is the 11th edition of the good practice toolkit.The report is a summary of the activities undertaken by companies in the domain of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. It also provides an abstract of all the relevant CSR events that took place last year in Poland. Coca-Cola Hellenic publishes first Integrated Report
For over ten years, Coca-Cola Hellenic has issued reports in line with the Global Reporting Initiative's (GRI) standards. This year sees its first Integrated Report, published with guidance from the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).This new reporting method provides a "holistic description of the company’s business model and its use of capitals and resources give the reader a comprehensive and deeper understanding of the company’s positioning." Regeneration Roadmap releases final report
The Regeneration Roadmap (A joint project by GlobeScan and SustainAbility) has just launched its final output: Changing Tack. The report addresses the question "How can business accelerate progress in sustainable development?".The report finds sustainability challenges remain great and growing, and that solutions are not yet proliferating at the speed and scale needed to avert widespread environmental, social and economic disruptions. However, the report argues that the private sector has both the capability and reason—rooted in self-interest—to play a catalytic leadership role through what it calls extended leadership, that not only focuses on individual business performance but also on how to most effectively change underlying system conditions… Read more

Dow becomes the Official Carbon Partner of the Sochi Games 2014
Dow, Worldwide Partner and the Official Chemistry Company of the Olympic Games, has been announced as the Official Carbon Partner of the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee.The Company will be responsible for the mitigation of the direct carbon footprint attributed to the Organising Committee given its responsibility to host and deliver the Games. Hitachi Group adopts human rights policy
In May 2013, the Hitachi Group adopted a group-wide policy on human rights. The policy built upon both the International Bill of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.The policy highlights Hitachi's CSR commitment and was designed to take into account varying definitions of human rights in business across cultures (between Japan, Europe and the US, for example) and has been aligned to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights… Read more

CSR Europe unanimously re-elects Board Chairperson
