Tuesday, May 23, 2017

CSR Europe and the United Nations Global Compact joined forces on May 22, 2017, at the annual European Business Summit, to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding as a commitment toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Memorandum of Understanding, signed by Lise Kingo, CEO and Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact and Hans Daems, Chair of the Board of CSR Europe, lays out the overall direction for collaboration as well as specific commitments towards the Global Goals.

Collaborative efforts will be put forth from both sides to provide learning networks and opportunities for business practitioners to advance their sustainability practices toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 UN Agenda. Moreover, priority will be placed on engaging multi-stakeholder networks at national level and developing projects with greater practical impact.

High level engagement with policymakers, at global, European and national level will be carried out to support outlining smart policy measures to advance the level playing field and create an environment conducive towards higher levels of sustainability.
