Following the success of the Raw Materials Week 2017, the 3rd edition of the EU 'Raw Materials Week' will take place from Monday 12 to Friday 16 November 2018 in Brussels. This exciting week will build upon a series of events organised by the European Commission addressing the latest news on raw materials in the EU.
It will be a unique opportunity for the raw materials community to discuss and exchange on all relevant issues regarding policy, technology, international cooperation, framework conditions, knowledge base and more.
To maximise innovation, impact and performance in a sustainable manner along supply chains, collaboration is key. Even more so when it comes to drive positive change and continuous improvement for more sustainable business practices that mitigate risks and improve smallholder and community livelihoods.
CSR Europe’s expertise on facilitating sectorial collaborations for supply chain sustainability as well as cross-sectorial collaboration for enhanced raw materials sustainability is being proved successful in several context.
Alice Pedretti, Senior Project Manager (Source for Good) at CSR Europe, says: “The European Commission’s work on critical raw materials represents a great source of supporting framework for any actors working on the topic of raw materials sustainable sourcing.” She will be speaking at the Raw Materials Week, where she will share the relevant experience of CSR Europe on these topics in two sessions:
- On November 13th, in the panel focused on Responsible and Sustainable Sourcing and Extraction of Raw Materials for Competitive European Value Chains
- On November 14th, in the panel discussing Raw materials for battery value chain
