The war in Ukraine comes on top of a deluge of unprecedented global events that threaten to turn back progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and undermine the well-being of people and countries around the world. For those working in sustainability, the alarming state of global affairs has brought deep reckoning and reflection. How can we in business, government, civil society, academia, and the media to contribute to a more resilient form of inclusive, sustainable development that delivers on the promises of the SDGs?

A Call for Dialogue, Action & Support

As we approach the 50th anniversary of the 1972 UN Conference on the Human Environment, it is fitting to rally the global sustainability community to come together to provide concrete support to people in our community who have been devastated by the war in Ukraine.

On 21-22 June, CSR Europe, in collaboration with GlobeScan and CSR Ukraine, is jointly organizing a 24-hour web-a-thon and fundraising for Ukraine’s civil society.

The web-a-thon

This will be a follow-the-sun, around-the-world event organized jointly with partner organizations around the world: a 24-hour continuous, online webinar, with 24 different panels and topics exploring the future of sustainable development and roles of business, civil society, and governments. The event will gather a diverse slate of Thought Leaders and sustainability practitioners who will diagnose the current state of sustainability and begin to fill in pieces of a revived roadmap to help us navigate towards a better future. A Civil Society Fundraise

CSR Europe, Globescan, and CSR Ukraine appeal to foundations and others for financial support to help maintain and rebuild Ukrainian civil society by directly supporting local NGOs based in Ukraine.
Together with two reputable intermediary organizations in Ukraine – the Zagoriy Foundation and CSR Ukraine – we have created a platform to allow companies, foundations, governments, and individuals to donate to the rebuilding of Ukraine’s civil society. Funding will go directly to support the operations and programs of local Ukrainian NGOs working across a variety of areas, including social justice, environment, health, freedom of the press, among others.
