Brief project summary

HP is the IT partner for STORM CLOUDS - a European Commission initiative that aims to transfer municipal functions of three cities to the cloud. These will include electronic voting, energy saving, environmental pollution monitoring and crime prevention.

Short activity description

STORM, or Surfing Towards the Opportunity of Real Migration, is designed to speed up the adoption of cloud computing by public services. This project aims to make collaboration between public authorities easier and more cost effective through the sharing and reuse of common platforms, components and infrastructures. As a result, municipalities across the EU will be a step closer to becoming truly ‘smart cities’.
