Brief project summary

Sustainable mobility is one of the key axes in the Environmental Impact Plan 2013-2015 of the company, based on a "low carbon" policy, supported by ICT and alternative energies. This initiative responds to the philosophy of Creating Shared Value of Calidad Pascual.

Short activity description

In this strategic framework, activities are focused on:
- Incorporation of cleaner vehicles, through a gradual renewal of the fleet, which has been certified by ECOSTARS with the highest rating: 5 stars.
- Optimization of routes and loads.
- Participation in initiatives for more efficient distribution in urban centers.
- Reducing travel by using new technologies promoting e-commerce channel and telephone to reach 35% (currently represents 20%)
- Road safety: Obtain ISO 39 001 certification
- Training in efficient and safe driving

Achieved impact

SCOPE 2015:
1. Renewal of the vehicle fleet with less polluting diesel vehicles: 100%
2. Renewal of cleaner fleet of trucks and vans: 40%
3. Use of cars and trucks powered by natural gas, LPG and Electric: 30%
4. Use of new technologies (tablet) for our sellers :100%
5. Reduction of trips made
6. Reduction of CO2 emissions as a result of the above actions
7. Safe and efficient driving training for our employees
8. 1.500 direct jobs and 300 indirect jobs

This initiative creates shared value with our stakeholders:

The initiative responds to a changing pattern of mobility of our employees in order to optimize routes and loads, supported in the use of new technologies, providing a reduction of accidents and providing better balance between professional and personal life.

Cleaner vehicles contribute to reduce the carbon footprint of our own customers' business: shops, restaurants etc. contributing in many cases to their own environmental objectives.
