European Commission releases analysis of companies' reference to CSR guidelines

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

The European Commission has released the results of its study into the extent to which companies make reference to specified and internationally accepted CSR guidelines in their own CSR strategy.  The EC examined the frequency of references to five particular instruments which make up "an evolving and increasingly coherent global framework for CSR":

  • OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
  • The 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact
  • ISO 26000 Guidance Standard on Social Responsibility
  • United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
  • International Labour Organisation Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises on Social Policy
