Enel has partnered with international sustainability standard-setter GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) ahead of the 5th GRI Global Conference: Empowering Sustainable Decisions, which takes place in Amsterdam May 18 - 20, 2016.
Enel is partnering with GRI to promote the use of sustainability information in strategic decision making in the business sector. Enel and GRI are working on the identification of new sustainability and reporting trends, shaping the future of corporate disclosure practices to enable businesses to monitor and predict the evolution of sustainability-related issues, rather than just reacting to them.
The aim of this activity is to strengthen the role of environmental, social and governance (ESG) elements in corporate reporting.
Enel and GRI are committed to using data and technology to move corporate disclosure beyond annual reports and to empower stakeholders by giving them better access to the information they need for decision making.
Since 2003 Enel has produced its own annual Sustainability Report, which lays out the Group’s efforts in a host of areas, including sustainable innovation, protection of the environment and community relations.
