CSR Kosovo has officially launched the European Pact for Youth in Kosovo.
The launch took place at the Emerald Hotel (Verdi room), on March 4, 2016 in Prishtina.
The European Pact for Youth was launched in Kosovo under the high patronage of the Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo, and with the high-level support from Jacques Spelkens, CSR Manager at ENGIE, and CSR Europe's board member.
Present at the launch were also Kosovo's Minister of Education, senior representatives of the public sector, private and civil society.
During the launch, the Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo, Mr. Kadri Veseli, declared his support for the Pact, and other initiatives that unite the commitment of the public and private, as well as civil society, in increasing youth employment.
Mr. Veseli stressed the importance of jointly engaging youth, and ensure that this initiative has concrete actions that contribute to resolving youth unemployment in Europe.
Mr. Jacques Spelkens, (CSR Europe), highlighted that EU member states and Kosovo share similar challenges in relation to youth unemployment, and the need for collaboration between the public and the private sector. He highlighted the importance that the Pact has for Kosovo, given the high percentage of youth in the country. He also welcomed the fact that Kosovo immediately joined EU member states in this pledge.
