Bridgestone employees have raised more than €160,000 for 14 non-profit organisations in the field of cancer prevention across Europe, the Middle East and South Africa.
Participants across all functions and locations of the company collectively moved more than 1 million kilometres as part of an employee engagement campaign.
The initiative, which kicked off in January, saw Bridgestone employees choose cancer prevention as its central cause, as the disease affects everyone directly or indirectly at one point in their lives. Employees could collect kilometres through walking, cycling or another physical activity – even gardening counted. In addition, monthly challenges and health and fitness advice incentivised employees to participate. An easy-to-use web platform allowed employees to log the kilometres they collected.
