Randstad has published an in-depth report on labour migration, titled: "People to Jobs, Jobs to People".
Commissioned by Randstad, the IZA Institute for the Study of Labour in Bonn has studied the determinants of worker migration, which highlights expected changes in labour supply of targeted migration flows and offers a comprehensive discussion of firms’ (re)location choices to investigate the potential of job flows in response to skill shortages.
Randstad CEO, Jacques van den Broek, presented this study to Mr. Kamp, Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Mr. Kamp welcomed the report and its recommendations and has sent it to Parliament.
The research shows that labour migration is important in resolving future labour shortages through which a contribution is made to economic growth and employment.
The report comprises three studies:
1. What moves talent?
2. Projecting developments in labor supply and demand
3. Jobs to People? - Assessing firm location choice behavior in the light of skill shortages
