What are, in your view, key CSR topics and priorities on the agenda for Portuguese companies?
Taking into account what is happening today in the global business community, the key CSR topics are mainly corporate governance and its convergence with CSR and also all the issues related with business ethics. Companies are also emphasizing their role as proactive agents towards social inclusion.
RSE Portugal is organizing the second edition of the Portuguese MarketPlace on CSR in 2009. What do you see as the added value for participants and companies?
The added value of participating in an event with these characteristics is mainly related with the possibility of finding and acquiring innovative CSR solutions and developing relational capital with other participants and companies. This event is seen as one of the more creative events in Portugal in the field of CSR and companies recognize a clear added value in participating in this event.
RSE Portugal is a partner in the collaborative project co-funded by the European Union titled "Fostering CSR in the Construction Sector". How can your corporate members benefit from such a project?
Participating in this project can increase RSE Portugal's visibility within companies of the civil construction sector and therefore can be a way to attract companies operating in this area, providing at the same time the development of specific know-how and knowledge regarding this sector that is by itself one of the more dynamic and important sectors of the Portuguese economy.
RSE Portugal is hosting the first meeting of CSR Europe's national partner network in 2009. What does being part of this network mean to your organisation?
RSE Portugal's has the pleasure of hosting the first NPO meeting of 2009 and we hope with this meeting to strengthen the ties between the national partner organisations and also with CSR Europe. This network is indeed of great importance as it represents a significant number of European companies committed with CSR and the knowledge sharing between all this partners is one of the key aspects of its existence. Our experience during more than 10 years as an NPO is of key importance to our organization as we have learned a lot with all the NPOs.
