Equality between Women and Men
Increasing equality between men and women in the workplace is a priority both for governments and businesses. Through the medium of surveys and exchange of experiences, this Laboratory aims to develop practical recommendations and tools to aid businesses in achieving a greater level of equality within the workplace.

Project Description
The project aims to promote the equality of women and men facilitating both equal opportunities implementation in the orgranizations and an appropriate work/life balance.
Main Project Objectives and Targets
Objectives:

Attain an in-depth understanding of the working woman's condition and expectations and of work-life balance issues

Prepare a "toolkit" with guidelines/recommendations for implementation and management of equal opportunities programs

Enhance mainstreaming activities on gender equalities
Deliverables:
- Preparation of a "toolkit", including practical guidelines and indications on implementation and management of equal opportunities programs aiming at granting career opportunities to women working in medium / large companies in different industry sectors (ICT, energy, manufacturing, finance, etc.).These guidelines have been drafted in accordance with the 10 recommendations of CSR Europe's "Women in Leadership positions."
- A first ever comprehensive survey on the Italian working women condition and work/life balance, with the patronage (and joint funding) of the Italian Ministry for Equal Opportunities and the Province of Milano, conducted on a representative sample of the population will also be conducted
- Based on the experiences of the participating companies, we will produce practical suggestions (i.e.: support and visibility to high potential women, coaching and mentoring schemes, committees and network implementation, work/life balance schemes,...). Both, the above guidelines and study will be launched at a high level Conference at the end of 2007.
