CSR Magazine
CSR Magazine was published between 1999 and 2003. While it is no longer in publication, it was the first and only European magazine covering corporate social responsibility across Europe. Each issue has country and company profiles, interviews and commentaries and special reports on topical CSR issues.
December 2003
This issue includes a Special Report ‘AIDS and Access to Medicine in Africa' which highlights the role business and employers can play in assisting their employees. The magazine also includes an interview report with Renaat Landuyt, Minister Vice President of the Flemish Government at the time, who shares his views on job creation, the role of government in CSR and his new project for the Flemish Region; 'service cheques'.
September 2003
This issue focuses on fair trade and includes special reports on how fair trade works and affects CSR. With a review of organisations working on fair trade, this issue contains a report that places Delta Cafés company as a leader in facilitating fair trade between nations and corporations. Additionally included are the results of the Fair Trade web survey hosted by CSR Europe's website.
June 2003
This issue contains special reports on disability in the workplace and beyond, with commentary by European Disability Forum President Yannis Vardakastanis as a tribute to the 2003 year being the European year of people with disabilities. Additionally, there is a report covering the international reactions to the water crisis and the possible role business' could play in bringing about positive change.
January 2003
This issue includes special reports on integrating CSR into international trade, with a focused report on CSR approaches being adopted in Latin America in response to dramatic economic upheaval. This issue's Inside Europe focuses on Scotland with additional reports covering the Danish EU Presidency Conference on CSR, and the launch of the European Multi-Stakeholder Forum.
October 2002
This issue presents special reports covering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and social responsibility with special commentaries by Dr Ruth Hillary and SME envoy Timo Summa. Additionally, an interview with Environics CEO Doug Miller gives insights into the growing worldwide CSR phenomenon and business' vital role in the future. This issue includes a focus on Poland as well as a glimpse into the new European Mutli-Stakeholder Forum as announced by the European Commission in its communication on CSR.
July 2002
This issue highlights the topic of CSR in business schools and includes special reports on developing new agendas for researching and teaching as well as preparing future managers for a world in change. Additionally, an interview with Mark Wade of the Shell Corporation discusses sustainable development and CSR learning needs. Denmark will be the focus of the Inside Europe report with additional information covering topics such as the European Business Summit, and the World Summit on Sustainable Development.
April 2002
This issue includes special reports on CSR and the media, inquiring about how much coverage CSR gets while touching upon the roles and responsibilities included. Additional reports include an Inside Focus on Italy, a report on leadership challenges issued by World Economic Forum CEOs, an interview with Egil Myklebust concerning CSR as an essential business strategy, and Interview with Etienne Davignon, connecting business and social responsibilities within the SN Airlines case.
December 2001/January 2002
This issue includes special reports on rallying stakeholders in the European Business Campaign on CSR, governments deepening partnerships with business, business schools mapping the role of business in the 21st century, and reports on the media being a channel to the public. Additionally, there is a focus on Greece and an interview with Ulysses Kyriacopoulos, the then chairman of the board of directors of Silver & Baryte Ores Mining Co. S.A., who gives insights into the Greek attitude toward CSR.
September 2001
This issue contains special reports concerning the value of customers, and the changing relations between consumers, brands, and corporations. Also included is an interview with Ben Cohen of Ben and Jerry's on 'doing good business'. Another special report covers the issue of building trust through brand reputation, while the Inside Europe focuses on Germany, with additional articles concerning CSR in the EU Commission through the recent Green Papers, how the Belgian presidency has highlighted CSR on the European Agenda.

This issue contains a special report on CSR Europe's programme 'Business and Human Rights' which was initiated in response to the growing interest and concern for business, civil society, and the European Institutions. Additionally included is a report on the business of human rights, commentary on human rights by Amnesty International in the Netherlands, a focus on Portugal, and a stakeholder dialogue interview report on business and human rights involving Robert Madelin, Ugo Pitton, Bob van den Bos.
January 2001
This issue contains a special report on the success of the First European Business Convention on Building Corporate Social Responsibility, which was held in Brussels in November 2000. This convention was coordinated by CSR Europe and generated widespread enthusiasm for CSR. This issue also includes a report on CSR Europe and its national partners, a focus on Ireland, a report on how European consumers desire socially responsible products, and an interview report with Managing Directors Ann Vandenhende and Jan Noterdaeme who helped establish the CSR Europe Business Network for CSR.
October 2000
This issue contains a special insert on the first European Conference on CSR with special reports on business and education partnerships, a European report on the quality of school education, a reflection on IBM's response to the needs of modernising and adapting education, an Inside Europe report focusing on Finland, and an interview with Marie Donnelly from the European Commission concerning the integration of CSR in Europe.
April 2000
This issue contains a report on Corporate Community Involvement and how companies can gain from supporting community initiatives. Also included is a focus on Switzerland, a report covering the special appeal on the Corporate Social Responsibility Laboratory of the future European Heads of State to the time, and a special report covering the summary of conclusions pertaining to the Lisbon Summit of March 2000.
January 2000
This issue contains a special report on equality and diversity and how business' are meeting the challenge of social and demographic change. Also included is a focus on Belgium, an interview with Chris Marsden regarding bringing together the forces of business and education, and a report on corporate citizenship regarding employee commitment in a changing world.
November 1999
This issue contains a special report on Socially Responsible Investing which seeks to answer questions concerning whether or not investors and fund managers are making the most of their money. Also included is a report which focuses on the Netherlands, a four page pull-out on EU Day, and an interview with Daniel Lebègue, the then President and Chief Executive Officer of Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations in France, who discusses the link between banking and corporate social responsibility.
September 1999
With a special report on the European Day of Business and Governments joining forces for employment, this issue also includes highlights the European Employment Strategy and the business perspective. Additionally included is a report on Romano Prodi, who joins business leaders and governments to discuss employment and social cohesion.
