3. BUSINESS INNOVATION PROJECTS
Business innovation projects are client-driven CSR consultation tools aiming at addressing a specific business issue, thus resulting in the implementing of enhanced management models or new services within a group of companies.
These innovative business projects go beyond best practice sharing through practical collaboration and can be either cross-sector or sector specific.
CSR Europe also works to ensure that this practical work will contribute significantly to the EU policy debate on CSR.
Each CSR Europe tailored service or collaborative project could lead to a business innovation project. CSR Europe is assessing the business innovation agenda for the period 2013-2015.
Examples so far include:
European Automotive Working Group on Supply Chain Sustainability
The European Automotive Working Group on Supply Chain Sustainability consists of several automotive manufacturers working together – in addition to their own efforts – to enhance sustainability in their supply chains.
Social investment strategy for Hyundai and Kia
CSR Europe developed pan-European social contribution strategies for Hyundai Motor Europe and Kia Motor Europe. The strategies are based on thorough understanding of external expectations in Europe, an analysis of internal needs and preferences, and current best practices of companies in the automotive, as well as other sector. As a result, Hyundai Motor Europe launched the project “Skills for the future” at the European Business Summit 2012 and will start implementation in fall 2012.
