Sony Achieves Over 30% Reduction in Global CO2 Emissions

Renault fights against malnutrition in Argentina

RenaultFor the last six years, the Conin Foundation has being fighting against child malnutrition and contributes to the construction of prevention centres across various regions of Argentina. Renault has been an avid financial supporter of the initiative. Volkswagen signs power supply contract with VERBUND power plants

VolkswagenIn Wolfsburg, Volkswagen Kraftwerk GmbH and the Austrian power company VERBUND Sales GmbH signed a power supply contract. Under the contract, Volkswagen will cover about ten percent of the power demand of German Volkswagen Group facilities using power generated by the Austrian VERBUND Group at its hydropower plants from 2013 onwards.Power supplied from the VERBUND power plants starting on January 1, 2013 is to meet about ten percent of the power demand of twelve Volkswagen Group production plants in Germany… Read more

Coca-Cola Hellenic Cyprus acts swiftly to provide help following huge explosion at naval base

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling CompanyCoca-Cola Hellenic Cyprus responded immediately to the relief effort following the disastrous explosion at a naval base in the south of the country on Monday, 11th July.  Thirteen people were killed and 61 injured by the blast which also destroyed the island’s main power plant located nearby. Initial disaster relief efforts, coordinated by the Cyprus Red Cross together with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Exterior, included the delivery of 900 liters of Kykkos water and 350 liters of Lanitis orange juice to rescue workers and affected local residents… Read more

KKR and Munich Re join solar energy sector

KKRKohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) has teamed up with German insurance company Munich Re to acquire a stake in 42 solar power plants in Spain and Italy, underlining how some of the larger private equity groups are rushing into Europe's renewable energy sector.
