Vodafone publishes 2008/2009 CR Report
Vodafone's has published its latest CR Report highlighting how the company's expansion in emerging markets is promoting economic development by increasing access to communications. Mobilising development is the theme of the report, which includes the results of new research in India and tackles the challenges of managing responsibly in emerging markets. One section is dedicated to Vodafone's new operating company in India. Delta Humanitarian Foundation launches project for children without parental care
The Delta Humanitarian Foundation has initiated a project for children without parental care. The aim of the project named "Happy New Spring", funded by Delta Sport, is to entertain, educate and stimulate the imagination and creativity of the young who live in homes for children without parental care around Serbia. IBM, Syracuse University, New York State to build one of the world's most energy-efficient data centers
IBM, Syracuse University and New York State have entered into a multiyear agreement to build and operate a new computer data center on the University's campus that will incorporate advanced infrastructure and smarter computing technologies to make it one of the most energy-efficient data centers in the world. The data center is expected to use 50 percent less energy than a typical data center today, making it one of the "greenest" computer centers in operation. Read more (IBM)

IBM and EU partners create a better way to fight AIDS virus
IBM has been selected for its contributions to the EuResist research project for AIDS treatment as a Computerworld Honors Program Laureate for 2009.Developed by IBM researchers in Haifa, Israel, the project's new technologies and mathematical models are providing a smarter and more efficient way to choose the best drugs combinations for any given HIV genetic variant. EuResist is an online system that helps doctors choose the treatment with the highest probability of halting virus replication and impairing evolution of drug resistance. Read more (IBM)

Spain: Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad publishes catalogue of good CSR practices
Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad, one of CSR Europe's Spanish national partner organisations, publishes on 4 June a Catalogue of Good Practices in Corporate Responsibility.The guide includes best practices from 45 enterprises, covering a range of CSR topics. The guide will be distributed nationally and internationally to more than 70 countries.The launch event will be held on 4 June in Barcelona with the participation of high-level representatives of the regional authorities and Club de Excelencia's member companies. Call for entries for Belgian Business Awards for the Environment
Business & Society Belgium, CSR Europe's Belgian national partner organisation, has launched the call for entries for the 2009 Belgian Business Awards for the Environment. The awards reward companies that combine innovation, economic success and environmental sustainability in categories including management, products, processes and international cooperation. HP extends environmental leadership with new technology
HP has announced several additions to its HP Eco Solutions program, including new products, services and operations, as well as company-wide environmental goals. The expanded portfolio provides consumers and enterprises - including HP - with a clear return on investment through financial savings, as well as a “return on environment” through energy, carbon and waste savings.
