Toyota Cyprus has launched a “Prius Hybrid Routes” programme to raise public awareness regarding environmental issues, using hybrid technology as a starting point, while providing participants the chance to live daily with this technology, appreciating its advantages. Tetra Pak extends FSCTM-labelled beverage cartons to customers in Sweden, Denmark and Belgium
Tetra Pak has announced that the company plans to offer beverage cartons bearing the label of the Forest Stewardship CouncilTM (FSC) to customers in Sweden, Denmark and Belgium. Tetra Pak is aiming to supply Swedish customers with about 600 million and Danish customers with 270 million FSC-labelled packages in 2010. In Belgium, starting with retailer Colruyt, the company plans to offer 700 million FSC-labelled packages. And in Italy, starting this month, the farmers' cooperative Valfrutta, will packs its smoothies and nectars in FSC-labelled Tetra Brik® Aseptic packages in a variety of sizes… Read more

Nestlé backs Millennium Villages Project with USD 400,000 boost
Nestlé pledges USD 400,000 (over CHF 397,000) to support food and nutrition initiatives as part of the Millennium Villages Project. The two-year funding boost aims to advance progress in eliminating hunger, increase food security, and achieve the nutrition-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the 14 Millennium Villages across ten countries in Africa. Cargill and WFP successfully conclude three-year nutrition and health partnership benefitting 37,000 children in Indonesia
Cargill has announced the successful completion of the "Smart Schools Make Smart Kids" programme, a three-year partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) initiated in 2007 to improve the health, nutritional levels and education of elementary school-age children in Sampang, Madura. Cargill had funded the program with US$ 3 million (IDR 27 billion). Separately, WFP has provided more than US$8 million (IDR 72 billion) assistance in Madura since 2005 through various projects such as school meals, nutrition programmes, food for work and community development activities… Read more

In recent years, companies have realized that equal employment processes cannot move forward without involving men in these issues or without challenging the cultural stereotypes that perpetuate the model of "men as breadwinners" who are devoted to their work and woman as being in charge of home and family life. On September 21st, business leaders from some of Britain's top companies came face-to-face with those who face multiple barriers to work and explored practical solutions for them to find work tomorrow.
