CSR Europe launches call for best practices: promote your CSR best practices; learn from your peers!
Sharing best practices is an essential part of Enterprise 2020 and CSR Europe as a network of companies and national partners.In November, CSR Europe will be re-launching the best practice solutions database to the network and wider audiences. Your best practices will be profiled on the CSR Europe website, which receives over 20,000 visitors a month. CSR Europe attends European Commission Expert Group on CSR Reporting
The latest European Commission Expert group meeting on CSR reporting was held on 30 September 2011. During this meeting participants discussed the nature, content and scope of the potential legislation. Most experts agreed that the “comply or explain” approach would be more appropriate than a general reporting obligation. Group-based reporting for all large companies and all listed companies was agreed by most experts, but is still under debate. Enterprise 2020 update: Collaborative Venture on Using Potential - Jointly Tackling Demographic Change in Europe

European Commission’s Expert Group on CSR Reporting and next meetings
On the 11th of July, CSR Europe was invited to participate in the Expert Group of the European Commission in view of preparing possible proposals for new initiatives and/or revised legislative measures on disclosure of non-financial information (CSR Reporting). Other Participating representatives included: BusinessEurope, UEAPME, Novo Nordisk (CSR Europe Board member), ICGN, Aviva Investor, ECCJ, PWC, VIGEO, IIRC, Eabis, GRI). CSR Europe had the opportunity to provide our members questions, inputs, concerns and proposals based on our EU update conference call (27 June with over 40 members), follow up e-mails from Titan, BASF, HP, Hitachi, as well as from CSR Europe’s response to the EC Public Consultation in January… Read more

CSR Europe and members host Disruptive Innovation Seminar at the European Parliament
On 21 June 2011, Novartis together with CSR Europe, Vodafone and Rollback Malaria organised a seminar on “Disruptive Innovation in Healthcare Delivery” hosted by MEP Nirj Deva in the European Parliament in Brussels. This event took place in a context where for too long the Development Community has been overly reluctant in working with the private sector to help foster nation states and local communities that are both self-developing and self-sustainable.
