“Better CSR advice to SMEs” event report now available
On the 12th and 13th of June 83 practitioners and experts from all over Europe attended the networking event “Better CSR advice for SMEs” in Berlin. The conference’s main aims were to
- Identify established and new best practices in the community;
- Offer practitioners an opportunity to learn from each other;
- Facilitate networking amongst this diverse group of practitioners advising SMEs on CSR from across Europe, and to help them feel part of a community of practice.
The conference was held in a BarCamp format: BarCamps recognise the participants as experts, enabling them to present their unique expertise and experience, and to share challenges they face as well as insights with their peers. Participants propose sessions on a particular topic that they would like to host during the conference, and having heard the proposals put forward by others, also select which sessions are to take place. Sessions then take place in parallel, with the number of sessions usually only limited by the number of rooms available at the venue! Such conferences are highly interactive and dynamic, with sessions intended to involve participants and to draw on their expertise. In addition there are also ample opportunities for participants to interact and network throughout.
