Forética launches 27 initiatives under the Enterprise 2020 scheme in Spain
Forética, the National Partner Organisation of CSR Europe in Spain, launched on May 29th a record number of 27 collaborative initiatives under the Enterprise 2020 scheme in Spain. The initiatives were selected by the Forética Board out of 43 projects submitted and include projects involving over 200 businesses, NGOs, academia and other stakeholders and are based in eight regions of the country. The collaborative initiatives cover a vast array of areas from research on the development of biofuels in the aviation industry to processes to improve efficiency in the dairy industry in northern Cantabria to a unique project to increase the employment prospects of youth in deprived areas.
The projects were selected due to the rigour they applied in their action plans and strategies and later in September there will be an evaluation of the impact of these projects which will be presenting their final results of the first year of collaboration in Spring 2013. Enterprise 2020 is the only business-led initiative highlighted by the European Commission in its recent Communication on Corporate Responsibility and in Spain, Enterprise 2020 was launched by Forética at a high level event with Crown Prince Felipe and Forética member company CEOs in September 2011.
