ABB and the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association (AISM) together in the fight against multiple sclerosis

ABB

ABB works with the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association in the belief that people with disabilities, generated by difficult illnesses, and their families have the right to have a good quality of life and full social integration. To do this, within the initiatives of social responsibility, ABB supports the "Project Family" program, organized in several initiatives to meet the needs of young families living with the problems of multiple sclerosis. This has allowed AISM to draw important ideas and material to pursue new initiatives aimed at children, according to different age, and to develop information tools specifically tailored for them.

The "Booklet for adolescents", the first publication in Italy for teenagers with experience of MS in the family has been made with the support of ABB. The publication is a tool to help young people to start a process of knowledge and awareness of the difficulty in daily life with a family member suffering from multiple sclerosis. A new publication, "You know ... We talk about MS - Guide for Parents", is entirely made with the support of ABB, specifically dedicated to the dialogue between parents and children on the multiple sclerosis.

Besides economic support, ABB also promotes the active participation of its employees as volunteers, through the project "Volunteers are not born, we become". This initiative, launched in 2008, offers employees the opportunity to spend a day on paid leave in favor of AISM. "ABB puts special emphasis on human resource development, diversity and talent," explains Nicoletta Chiucchi, Head of ABB Social Activities in Italy. (Source: ABB)
