Workshop summary: Integration & Valuing Non-Financial Performance
The first group of companies participating in CSR Europe’s collaborative project on Valuing Non-Financial Performance (VNFP) held a workshop in Rome on 1-2 March, kindly hosted by Telecom Italia. Participants of this workshop exchanged best practices on integration - the degree to which CSR is linked to the core strategy & management processes of the business. In addition to the exchange of best practices, the project aims to define the material non-financial performance factors (ESG) of companies by creating a consensus on material NFP superfactors with leading asset managers and asset owners and establishing a convergence methodology for measuring and reporting on NFP between companies and investors… Read more

The eco up! as a series version generates only 79 g/km of CO2 eco up! consumes only 2.9 kg of natural gas per 100 kilometresVolkswagen presented the production version of the new eco up! in Geneva on the 6th of March. Sanofi US Launches 2012 Data Design Diabetes Innovation Challenge
Sanofi US has announced that it is accepting entries for the Data Design Diabetes™ Innovation Challenge. The Innovation Challenge is aligned with the United States government's initiative to use an open dialogue to drive action toward a three-part aim: innovation in the quality, delivery and cost of diabetes care. Nestlé partners with South African scientists
Nestlé is entering into a new research partnership with the government of South Africa which it is hoped will contribute to the scientific development of the country and the continent as a whole. Unilever calls on companies to tackle food waste mountain
Unilever has asked other companies, trade bodies and public sector organisations to join its campaign to tackle the 400,000 tonnes of avoidable food waste that is discarded every year.In a meeting in London the company issued a call for more signatories to join organisations such as WRAP, Whitbred and Sodexo in supporting its United Against Waste campaign, ahead of a larger push in the spring that will aim to bring together fragmented food waste initiatives.Read more (Source: Business Green)

Vodafone donate logo to Suicide or Survive charity
Vodafone and the Dublin Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) have announced a unique initiative for the first games of the Allianz National Football and Hurling Leagues that will deliver a timely boost for promotion of mental health issues in Ireland.Ireland's largest total telecoms provider is to vacate its jersey sponsorship for the much anticipated opening football for the Suicide or Survive Charity (SOS) www.suicideorsurvive.ie. UC Berkeley Advances Sustainable Chemistry Education with Dow Contribution
Dow will support the UC Berkeley College of Chemistry’s aging undergraduate teaching labs rebuild and the design of a new curriculum based on the principles of sustainability and green chemistry, with a $3.5 million gift through The Dow Chemical Company Foundation.As part of the gift funds, the lab equipment, hoods and lighting will be replaced to bring it up to the latest efficiency standards and the lab curriculum will be completely revised to incorporate sustainability into every experiment… Read more
