From Visions to Actions: Closing Conference for the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012
It is tradition for the Member State holding the EU Presidency to co-organise the Opening and Closing Conferences of the European Year. The Closing Conference of the Year fell within the Cyprus Presidency and focused on the pillars of the Year, which were active ageing and solidarity between generation.The Conference was attended by Member States officials as well as representatives of national NGOs, local authorities, social partnerns, the Commission and European organisation. Nestlé helps farmers adapt to climate change

Dow’s 2012 Sustainability Innovation Student Challenge Award programme recognizes 89 student winners
The Dow Chemical Company announced the conclusion of its fourth annual Sustainability Innovation Student Challenge Award (SISCA)program. Hitachi helps teach children the importance of Universal Design
Hitachi Europe Ltd. announced that students at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, based in Maidenhead, England, have turned their hands to product design having spent the past few weeks learning about Universal Design from staff at Hitachi Europe.Universal Design is an interactive primary school education programme run by Hitachi, which teaches 9-11 year olds the importance of designing products and services that can easily be used by everyone – as well as social inclusion.
