ArcelorMittal China and the China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO) Green Commuting Fund, announce the launch of the "Green Commuting" project
This cooperation between ArcelorMittal and the Green Commuting Fund aims to raise awareness about environmental protection and to build a "Low-carbon World Expo" via measures like green commuting training for employees. At the project launch, Dr. Zhang Jianyu, Deputy Secretary General & Chief Environmental Expert of CANGO Green Commuting Fund, conducted a comprehensive training for ArcelorMittal employees. Arcelor Mittal’s Sustain our Great Lakes Program announces $7.6 Million in grants to protect and restore Great Lakes in Canada and the USA
ArcelorMittal, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, local officials and federal agency partners - the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S.D.A Forest Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - recently announced 25 projects selected to receive a total of $7.6 million in funding through the Sustain Our Great Lakes programme. The 25 selected projects will help protect, restore and enhance the ecological integrity of the lakes and surrounding region by restoring critical aquatic and terrestrial habitats, controlling invasive species, protecting rare natural communities, improving passage for fish and other aquatic organisms, and educating citizens on how to protect the ecosystem… Read more

Companies Invited to update Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes
When they were launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) became the first global indexes to track the financial performance of the leading global sustainability corporations. Analysis for inclusion in the DJSI family of indexes is provided by SAM, a Swiss-based investment group focused exclusively on sustainability investing with $14 billion in assets under management. Researchers from BASF plan to utilize greenhouse gas CO2 with solar energy
Utilizing carbon dioxide as an energy source with the aid of sunlight is the goal being pursued in a new research project for recycling of greenhouse gases. Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation commits up to $400,000 to relief efforts in China
HP announced on April 15 that Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation has committed $250,000 to organizations, including World Vision and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, providing aid in the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated China’s Qinghai Province earlier in the week. The Foundation also has committed up to an additional $150,000 to match eligible contributions made by HP employees in support of the earthquake relief efforts, bringing the total amount committed by the Foundation to $400,000… Read more
