CSR Europe participates in TRAIN4CSR project meeting in Bologna

CSR Europe, alongside national partners from Scotland, Italy, Spain and Hungary, are engaged in a Life-Long Learning project co-funded by the European Commission, which aims to develop innovative CSR training modules on several topics. The European Commission is finalizing the study on Human Rights - CSR Europe activities related to the issue

As a first step, the European Commission has initiated a study of the existing EU and member state legislation in order to identify governance gaps and areas of legal uncertainty for European businesses, and to assess opportunities for improvement. The secrets to weaving sustainability into company DNA report

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports often describe sustainability as "part of our DNA" or "the way we do business"; however, business leaders lack a clear framework for systematically embedding sustainability into organizational culture. BITC report: Reporting on health and wellbeing raises average Total Shareholder Return for FTSE 100

FTSE 100 companies reporting quantitatively on employee health issues against Business in the Community's (BITC's) Workwell Model outperformed their peers on average Total Shareholder Return (TSR) by 10 percentage points in 2009. This is according to research from BITC's Business Action on Health (BAOH) campaign and Ipsos MORI, published today.The Workwell Model is a holistic approach to promoting employee health and wellbeing, developed by business for business. Academics urge radical new approach to climate change

The UN process has failed, they argue, and a global approach concentrating on CO2 cuts will never work. They urge instead the use of carbon tax revenue to develop technologies that can supply clean energy to everyone. The paper is named after Hartwell House, the Buckinghamshire mansion where the group of 14 academics from Europe, North America and Japan gathered in February to develop their ideas. New ILO global report on child labour

Amid growing concerns over the impact of the economic downturn, the International Labour Office (ILO) warned in a new study that efforts to eliminate the worst forms of child labour are slowing down and called for a "re-energized" global campaign to end the practice. In its quadrennial Global Report on child labour, the ILO said that the global number of child labourers had declined from 222 million to 215 million, or 3 per cent, over the period 2004 to 2008, representing a "slowing down of the global pace of reduction… Read more
