Dow named for tenth time to Dow Jones Sustainability Index

DowThe Dow Jones Sustainability World Index announced its rating of The Dow Chemical Company as one of the top performers in the global chemical industry - marking the tenth time Dow has received this recognition since the launch of the Index.Dow was one of only nine chemical companies to be recognized in the World Index. Dow achieved the highest possible score for Operational Eco-efficiency and Environmental Reporting, and the highest score in the sector for Standards for Suppliers. UN body calls on all institutional investors to disclose RI stance

Hellenic Network for CSR supports community initiatives by Greek bank

The Hellenic Network for CSR (HNCSR) worked closely together with the Cooperative Bank of Thessaly - Greece in order to activate the decision of the Bank to donate 2% of its net profits to activities that contribute to the sustainable development of the communities of the Trikala prefecture. The HNCSR helped the Bank to materialize its intention by providing its experience and support in organizing a call for the submission of proposals on the theme "People". China launches first ESG index, plans corporate governance addition

China has taken a major step in the promotion of sustainable investment in the country with the launch of its first ESG-based (environmental, social, governance) index, a joint venture between Chinese Securities Index Company (CSI) and ECPI, the Italian-based ESG index and research group, Responsible Investor reports. The CSI ECPI China ESG 40 Equity Index is made up of 40 domestic companies listed either on the Shanghai or the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, both joint owners of CSI. Bank of America ahead of plan on 10-year, $20 billion environmental business initiative

Bank of AmericaIn a report issued on September 16th, Bank of America announced it is ahead of schedule on its 10-year, $20 billion business initiative focused on addressing climate change, launched in 2007. Through June 2010, Bank of America has directed $8.4 billion through lending, investing, capital markets activity, philanthropy and the company's own operations. US survey: 83% of consumers want more cause marketing

41% of Americans claim that they have purchased a product within the last 12 months due to the brand's affiliation with a social or environmental cause and 83% of consumers say that they want more products that they use to benefit causes that they personally care about, says a new study issued this week by Cone. The 2010 Cone Cause Evolution Study found that the two demographic groups most likely to demand more cause marketing from their favorite brands are mothers and millennials.   Other overall findings include:88% say it is acceptable for companies to involve a cause or issue in their marketing 85% have a more positive image of a product or company when it supports a cause they care about 80% are likely to switch brands, similar in price and quality, to one that supports a cause  Read more (Source: Sustainable Life Media)
