Vattenfall publishes sustainability-integrated report
Vattenfall has now released its 'Annual report including Sustainability report 2012', which details not only the expenditures and future predictions for the enterprise but also the steps it is taking to reach sustainability goals.Sustainability is featured prominently in the report, which draws upon seven focus areas of the environment, business ethics, anti-corruption, human rights, working conditions, diversity and gender equality. Volkswagen ranked Germany's most attractive employer
Volkswagen's commitment to its workforce was highlighted recently when the car manufacturer was ranked as Germany's most attractive employer. This was the result of a wide-ranging survey of roughly 13,000 people throughout 17 sectors conducted by Focus news magazine and the Xing professional career network.The survey was staged in two parts. IRDO holds 8th international conference on CSR
More than 160 participants and speakers from 15 countries attended the Insitute for the Development of Social Responsibility's (IRDO) 8th international conference on 13 March in Maribor, Slovenia. ArcelorMittal holds third successful stakeholder conference in Liberia
On 27 and 28 February, ArcelorMittal held its third annual stakeholder conference in Gbarnga, Bong County, Liberia. The dialogue drew 70 people including representatives from the local media, judiciary and government as well as the mining company's suppliers and contractors, who voiced their concerns and engaged in discussions on a wide range of topics.ArcelorMittal is the only company that has put in place annual stakeholder engagement discussions in the West African country. 'GreenFuture' strategy to ramp up ŠKODA's sustainability measures

Centre for Sustainability and Excellence holds roundtable in Dubai

Microsoft widens its transparency with first Law Enforcement Requests Report
In response to increasing public interest about law enforcement requests and as part of its wider transparency goals, Microsoft has published its first Law Enforcement Requests Report covering all occurences in 2012. The report encompasses many well-known Microsoft platforms such as Hotmail, Outlook, SkyDrive and Xbox LIVE. CSR Europe delivers its first ever Stakeholder dialogue on Business and Human Rights

Western Union tackling social exclusion in Haiti through delivery of its services and technology
Western union, in a successful social venture with the government of Haiti, improves delivery of services to citizens of this island country, which still struggles to recover after 2010 eartquake and effects of Hurricane Tomas.The Western Union service will enable parents with school-age children, university students and senior citizens to access government and emergency payments at more than 600 Western Union Agent locations across Haiti. EC introductory guide on human rights for SMEs now available in 28 languages
The European Commission (EC) has now published its existing introductory guide on human rights for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in 28 languages. As well as all EU languages, the guide has been translated into Croatian, Chinese, Japanese, Turkish and Ukrainian.The EC's guide aims to transform the UN Guiding Principles on Human Rights into concrete advice for SMEs, which will allow them to integrate human rights mechanisms throughout their operations, whether in addressing employees' concerns or the standards of their supply chains… Read more
