Cargill reaffirms support for the Antinea Foundation’s efforts to raise awareness and understanding of marine conservation issues
Cargill is continuing its sponsorship of the Antinea Foundation and their project - The Changing Oceans Expedition. Antinea, a Geneva-based foundation registered in 2007, operates as an international non-profit organisation which aims to reconcile the health of the global marine environment with the practicalities of human activities in relation to the world’s oceans.The foundation focuses its efforts on three fields of activity: science, communication and outreach. Panasonic Eco Picture Diary Global Contest Ceremony & Press Event at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris
On February 8th Panasonic Corporation held the award ceremony of the 'Eco Picture Diary Global Contest' which Panasonic has been promoting with the aim to raise awareness of environmental issues and eco actions among the next generation. National winners of the contest attended the ceremony at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France. Centre for CSR Development (Ukraine) launches International Transparency Index - statistics on Denmark now available
The Transparency Index was developed by the Israeli company Beyond Business and was launched in 2009. The Index assesses the company’s website viewed as a main source of information for company’s stakeholders. Since January 2012 Beyond Business (Israel) and Centre for CSR Development (Ukraine) have partnered in launching The International Transparency Index. Farmer training launched in Ghana as part of the Cargill Sustainable Cocoa Program
Cargill’s cocoa & chocolate business – in close cooperation with the Ghana Cocoa Board – is expanding its Cargill Sustainable Cocoa Program with the launch of an extensive four year commitment to farmer training in Ghana.The training will be delivered in partnership with Ghanaian licensed cocoa buying company Akuafo Adamfo and the non-governmental organization Solidaridad West Africa. This program aims to train 15,000 farmers and support cocoa farming communities over the next four years in the Ashanti and Western regions of Ghana.Read more (Source: Cargill)

BASF wins award for integrated reporting
BASF has published an integrated corporate report since 2007. BASF’s first environmental report was published in 1988 and its first corporate report containing economic, environmental and social topics in 2003. BASF’s 2010 Report, which documents the company’s economic, environmental and social performance, was honored with an Award by Germany’s Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) and future e.V. Hitachi organises a second successful stakeholder dialogue with CSR Europe

BASF beats green 2020 goals nearly nine years early
Chemical giant BASF has extended its 2020 emissions and energy efficiency targets, after beating both goals nine years ahead of schedule. The company's latest sustainability report shows a 35 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per metric ton of sales product compared to 2002, 10 per cent above its original 2020 ambition.The company credited the deep cuts on improvements to production processes, while also reporting that its use of combined heat and power technologies helped improve energy efficiency 2… Read more
