Vocational School Students Challenging Europe’s Competitiveness

Brussels, 23rd May 2012: Students trying to enter today’s highly competitive labour market need to improve their talent for innovation and improve their entrepreneurial skills if they are not going to join the swelling ranks of unemployed youth. This week’s Innovation Camp 2012, which took place in Brussels on 22nd and 23rd May, organised by Junior Achievement-Young Enterprise Europe (JA-YE Europe), put vocational students’ entrepreneurial acumen to the test. Orange, Telefónica, Vodafone and Yoigo, together with the NGO Protégeles, develop app to report child abuse images

Telefonica                     On 24th May 2012, Orange, Telefónica, Vodafone and Yoigo, at the European Commission headquarters in Madrid, presented the mobile app “Protect childhood” for smartphones and tablets. This app will allow any user to report anonymously, in a simple and direct way, child abuse images that could be found browsing internet.Once again, Spanish mobile operators are pioneers in Europe with this kind of initiatives, this time developing an innovative solution to accomplish the objectives set by the European Commission in the CEO’s Coalition for a better Internet for kids, recently launched by Neelie Kroes, vice-president of the European Commission… Read more

Forética launches 27 initiatives under the Enterprise 2020 scheme in Spain

Forética, the National Partner Organisation of CSR Europe in Spain, launched on May 29th a record number of 27 collaborative initiatives under the Enterprise 2020 scheme in Spain. The initiatives were selected by the Forética Board out of 43 projects submitted and include projects involving over 200 businesses, NGOs, academia and other stakeholders and are based in eight regions of the country. The collaborative initiatives cover a vast array of areas from research on the development of biofuels in the aviation industry to processes to improve efficiency in the dairy industry in northern Cantabria to a unique project to increase the employment prospects of youth in deprived areas… Read more

Forética publishes report on first phase of Enterprise 2020 collaborative project: Accelerating CSR in State Owned Companies

Forética has published a report following the completion of the first phase of their Enterprise 2020 project on Accelerating CSR in State Owned Companies. This project aims to address the challenges, needs and priorities of state owned companies within the realm of CSR. It intends to develop practical start-up tools for state-owned companies at the national, regional and municipal levels in order to better equip these companies to manage CSR across different functions, such as procurement or communication and reporting, among others… Read more
