Winners of CR Reporting Awards 2010 announced
Now in their third year, the CR Reporting Awards are the only annual, global awards for Corporate Responsibility (CR) reporting, and are organized by CorporateRegister.com. They identify and acknowledge the best CR reports across nine categories, five of which are for specific ‘transparency aspects' such as carbon disclosure. The CRRA'10 solicited reports published between October 2008 and October 2009. 2010, European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion: How can you contribute?

France Telecom’s Orange: 61 graduates with potential have joined the Orange graduate program
The 9th recruitment drive has enabled Orange to select the 61 best candidates from the 2,000 graduates applying, drawn from leading international training programs. 17 nationalities are represented among the new recruits for positions in France and internationally. The Orange graduate program offers them specific support over the first five years of their career within the Group. For example, new employees are sponsored by an employee who has completed the program, and they are later mentored by an executive manager, and they have the opportunity to work in three different positions over five years, including one with a very strong international component… Read more

Dow Supports Advanced Chemical Safety Initiatives and Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences
Dow recently joined with The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences to announce its commitment to a chemical safety initiative focused on the development of new computational models of toxicity. In collaboration with Dow and other industry partners, including the American Chemistry Council, The Hamner Institutes will continue its implementation of the vision set forth by the 2007 National Academy of Sciences report, Toxicity Testing in the 21st Century. Transparency International publication “Corporate Responsibility and Anti-Corruption: The Missing Link?” released
At their best, corporate responsibility initiatives are an attempt to address the great environmental, social and ethical challenges of our times. As these programmes continue to evolve, the challenge for the anti-corruption movement is determining the appropriate place for anti-corruption efforts and whether - and how - they can support a company's corporate responsibility strategy. EABIS announced new dates for ISTUD workshop “Mainstreaming Corporate Responsibility through Executive Education”
Due to the travel chaos in many parts of Europe EABIS postponed ISTUD workshop on Mainstreaming Corporate Responsibility through Executive Education. Nevertheless, EABIS announced new dates. 'Sticky information' holds up energy-efficient housing
New EU-funded research from Finland has indicated that poor communication between producers of energy-efficient housing technologies and potential house-buyers is a major barrier to sustainable housing. The EC Green Paper on Energy Efficiency has suggested that the housing sector accounts for 40 per cent of Europe's energy requirements. However, the amount of energy conservation in this sector is rather small. A core problem is the communication breakdown. It suggests that government bodies can encourage energy-efficiency innovations not only through regulations but also by improving information flow… Read more
